船員傳統用來引起注意或打招呼的用語，尤其在招呼船時；有時也作為有趣的問候語使用。

極為古老且有海洋風格，很少在日常生活中使用，除非開玩笑或做戲劇效果。常見於海盜故事、航海電影或有趣的招呼（如「陸地ahoy!」）。不適用於正式場合。
