Meningioma Meaning in English

Definición
A meningioma is a type of tumor that forms on the membranes covering the brain and spinal cord, called the meninges. Most meningiomas are noncancerous (benign), but they can still cause problems by pressing on the brain or nerves.
Uso & Matices
Primarily used in medical and clinical contexts; 'meningioma' always refers to tumors of the meninges, not brain tissue itself. Common phrases include 'benign meningioma' and 'malignant meningioma'. Not to be confused with 'meningitis' (an infection or inflammation).
