'Equal to' means having the same value or amount as something else, or being capable of handling a task or challenge.
Uso & Matices
Used in math to show two things are the same ("2 + 2 is equal to 4"), and in daily speech to describe someone being able to do something ("He is equal to the task"). Often followed by a noun or number. Not the same as 'identical to', which stresses being exactly the same in every detail.
