ऐसी वस्तु जो रोशनी को गुजरने देती है, लेकिन इससे चीज़ें साफ़ नहीं दिखतीं। आमतौर पर यह जमे हुए काँच या पतले कपड़े में देखा जाता है।

'Translucent' एक औपचारिक और तकनीकी शब्द है। इसे 'transparent' (पूरी तरह से साफ़ दिखता है) या 'opaque' (रोशनी भी नहीं जाती) से न मिलाएँ। यह शब्द आमतौर पर वस्तुएँ, तरल या कलात्मक विवरणों (जैसे 'translucent skin') के लिए इस्तेमाल होता है। प्रयोग: 'translucent glass', 'translucent fabric', 'translucent appearance'।
