वे तथ्य, संख्याएँ या जानकारी जो इकट्ठा की जाती हैं ताकि उनका अध्ययन, उपयोग या संग्रह किया जा सके। यह शब्द अक्सर कंप्यूटर, शोध, व्यापार और सांख्यिकी के संदर्भ में इस्तेमाल होता है।

Usage Notes (Hindi)

आधुनिक रोज़मर्रा की अंग्रेज़ी में 'data' को अक्सर uncountable माना जाता है, इसलिए 'the data is useful' बहुत आम है; लेकिन औपचारिक या academic अंग्रेज़ी में plural verb भी मिल सकता है: 'the data are'। आम संयोजन हैं: 'collect data', 'analyze data', 'data entry', 'data analysis' और 'personal data'। इसे 'information' से न मिलाएँ: 'data' अक्सर कच्चे तथ्यों या संख्याओं पर ज़ोर देता है।
