一つの出来事の直後、あるいはその結果として別の出来事が起こることを表現する時に使う、とてもフォーマルな接続語です。主に書き言葉で使われます。

非常にフォーマルで、会話ではほとんど使いません。法的文書や論文、小説などで使用されます。日常会話では「その後」「そして」「結果として」などを使いましょう。
