'Uncommon' औपचारिक और अनौपचारिक दोनों संदर्भों में प्रयोग होता है। यह सकारात्मक (प्रतिभा) या नकारात्मक (बीमारी) दुर्लभता के लिए प्रयुक्त होता है। आम उपयोग: 'uncommon name', 'uncommon event', 'uncommon talent'। 'Rare' से हल्का और 'unusual' से ज़्यादा है।
