Se utiliza normalmente seguido de un sustantivo ('amenazar con un arma', 'amenazar con castigo'). Registro neutral o formal. Se usa solo cuando se especifica el medio, acción o consecuencia de la amenaza. No confundir con 'threaten to', que se traduce como 'amenazar con' + verbo en infinitivo.
