التعريف

यह 'test' का past tense और past participle है। इसका मतलब है कि किसी ने किसी चीज़ की गुणवत्ता, सुरक्षा, काम करने की क्षमता या ज्ञान को जाँचने के लिए उसे परखा।

यह अक्सर passive संरचनाओं में आता है: 'was tested', 'has been tested'. इसका प्रयोग products, ideas, medicines, systems और students के साथ आम है। 'tested' को हर बार 'examined' जैसा न समझें; 'tested' में अक्सर performance या ability जाँचने का भाव होता है।
