Algo barato, llamativo y que intenta parecer atractivo, pero en realidad es de mala calidad y mal gusto.

Normalmente se usa para ropa, joyas o adornos muy llamativos pero de mala calidad. Siempre es negativo; no se aplica solo por ser barato sino por ser de mal gusto. "Tawdry" implica peor calidad que "llamativo" o "chillón".
