التعريف

父親と結婚しているが実の母親ではない女性のことです。つまり、お父さんの再婚相手で、実母ではない人を指します。

「継母」は正式な言い方で、父と結婚した実の母でない人に使います。おとぎ話などでは冷たいイメージもありますが、現実では優しい場合もあります。「私の継母」は一人、「私の継母たち」は複数に使います。
