여러 명이나 동물들이 공포나 흥분 때문에 갑자기 우르르 몰려서 달리는 것.

주로 소, 말 등 동물에게 쓰이지만 사람의 혼란스러운 움직임에도 사용됨. 'were stampeded'처럼 수동태로 자주 쓰임. 갑작스러움과 공포를 암시함.
