التعريف

কোনো কিছু যদি বিক্ষিপ্ত হয়, তাহলে তা অল্প পরিমাণে অনেকটা জায়গা জুড়ে ছড়িয়ে থাকে। সাধারণত ঘন না হয়ে খুব কম দেখা যায়।

'Sparse' সাধারণত পড়ন্ত চুল, জনসংখ্যা, গাছপালা ইত্যাদি বর্ণনায় ব্যবহৃত হয়। 'sparse hair', 'sparse population', 'sparse vegetation' ইত্যাদি কোলোকেশন প্রচলিত। এটি 'dense'-এর বিপরীত। 'Scarce' অর্থের সাথে গুলিয়ে ফেলবেন না।
