কোনো কিছু (যেমন দাম, তাপমাত্রা, আবেগ) খুব বেশি বা তীব্র অবস্থায় থাকলে একে বোঝায়। সাধারণত স্বাভাবিকের চেয়ে বেশি হলে এই শব্দগুচ্ছটি ব্যবহৃত হয়।
