壊れた建物などから出た石やレンガなどの破片の集まり。災害や解体のあとによく見られる。

「がれき」は数えられない名詞で、主に災害や戦争後の崩壊した建物の場面で使われます。「がれきの下に埋まる」「がれきを撤去する」などの表現があります。小さなゴミや汚れには使いません。
