কিছু নষ্ট হয়ে যাওয়ার বা শেষ হয়ে যাওয়ার পর যা পড়ে থাকে। সাধারণত মৃতদেহ, হাড়গোড় বা ধ্বংসাবশেষ বোঝাতে ব্যবহার হয়।

সাধারণত বহুবচনে ব্যবহৃত হয়, যেমন 'human remains', 'the remains of the building'। verb 'remain' থেকে আলাদা রাখতে হবে।
