職場や組織などの序列で、他の人やものよりも高い地位やレベルにあること。

主にビジネスや組織で使われる表現。人にも物にも使えるが、'outperform'（成績で勝る）とは意味が異なるので注意。

In the company, managers usually rank above employees.
