사람이나 물건을 빨아들이는 느슨하고 젖은 모래. 비유적으로 빠져나오기 힘든 곤란한 상황을 의미하기도 함.

실제 지형이나 비유적 상황 모두에서 쓸 수 있음. 위험지역을 말할 땐 '유사', 곤란한 상황에서는 비유로 쓴다.
