누군가에게 무언가를 하도록 강하게 요구하거나 압박을 주는 것.

비공식적으로 자주 쓰이며, 일이나 경쟁, 교섭에서 많이 사용된다. 실제 온도와 관계없다. 'put the heat on someone'은 상대에게 부담이나 압박을 주는 표현.
