對植物、農作物、食物或財產有害的小動物或昆蟲；也可以指令人煩惱或造成麻煩的事物或人。

常用於農業和園藝中，指如老鼠、蟑螂、蟎蟲等有害生物。口語中亦可形容令人討厭的人。談及大規模時多用複數 "pests"；單數 "pest" 用於一種類型或比喻用法。
