Hastane, klinik veya başka bir sağlık kurumunda tıbbi bakım alan kişiye denir.

‘Hasta’ tıbbi bakım gören kişiyi ifade eder, sağlık personelini değil. ‘Hasta bakımı’, ‘hastane hastası’ gibi ifadelerde sıkça kullanılır. Sabırlı kişi anlamındaki ‘patient’ ile karıştırmayın.
