التعريف

글이나 의미를 잘못 읽거나 오해하는 것. 상황이나 사람의 의도를 혼동하는 데에도 쓰인다.

'misread the situation'은 상황을 오해했다는 뜻. 실제로 글자를 잘못 읽는 경우도 있지만 분위기나 의도 파악을 잘못했을 때도 쓴다.

I misread the instructions for the test.
