'Grounds' বলতে কোনো কাজ বা সিদ্ধান্তের যুক্তিসঙ্গত কারণ, কোনো ভবনের চারপাশের এলাকা অথবা কফি তৈরির পর বেঁচে থাকা অংশ বোঝায়। অর্থ নির্ভর করে বাক্যের প্রসঙ্গে।

প্রধানত 'grounds for complaint' বা 'on the grounds that' এর মতো আনুষ্ঠানিক কথায় ব্যবহৃত হয়। জমির ক্ষেত্রে 'school grounds' বা 'hotel grounds' বলতে ভবনের সুন্দরভাবে রক্ষণাবেক্ষণকৃত এলাকা বোঝায়। কফির ক্ষেত্রে সাধারণত 'coffee grounds' বলা হয়, একা ব্যবহার কম হয়।
