一般的な規則に当てはまらない、または通常とは異なる事例や事柄のこと。

フォーマル・カジュアル両方で使う。「make an exception」は特別に扱う意味。「to（a rule）」や「without exception」と一緒によく使う。'acceptance'や'expectations'と混同しないよう注意。

There are always exceptions to every rule.
