Trang trọng, chính xác hơn so với 'nhìn' hay 'kiểm tra'. Thường dùng trong cụm như 'examines evidence', 'examines a patient'. Hay gặp trong bối cảnh học thuật, y tế, pháp lý. Không dùng lẫn với 'test'.
