耳の中で作られる黄色っぽいワックス状の物質で、耳の穴を保護し清潔に保つ役割がある。

主に日常会話や医療現場で使われます。「earwaxがたまる」「earwaxを取る」などの表現によく出てきます。他の耳の疾患や分泌物とは区別します。
