কিছু জিনিস বা লোকজনকে বিস্তৃত এলাকাজুড়ে ছড়িয়ে দেওয়া বা বিভিন্ন দিকে সরিয়ে দেওয়া।

সাধারণত ধোঁয়া, বীজ, ভীড় বা তরল পদার্থের ক্ষেত্রে ব্যবহৃত হয়। প্রায়ই 'is being dispersed' এর মতো প্যাসিভ ফর্মে দেখা যায়। 'dissolving' বা 'spreading' এর সঙ্গে গুলিয়ে ফেলা উচিত নয়।
