話や文章、考えなどが整理されておらず、つながりがない様子。まとまりがなく理解しづらい場合に使う。

否定的な書き言葉や話し言葉の評価に使うことが多い。「disjointed speech」「disjointed thoughts」などの表現で使われる。物理的な物には使わない。
