किसी चीज़ को गंदा करना या उसे गंदगी या धब्बों से ढंक देना। यह 'dirty' का भूतकाल और भूतपूर्व कृदंत है।

सामान्यतः भूतकाल में इस्तेमाल होता है ('She dirtied...': उसने गंदा किया...)। अक्सर passive voice में भी मिलता है ('The floor was dirtied')। 'got dirty' (अपने आप गंदा हुआ) से कम आम; अधिकतर किसी के द्वारा चीज़ गंदी की जाती है।
