大勢の人や物が突然ある場所に集まったり、予想外に誰かを訪れて驚かせたり混乱させたりすること。

主にグループや大勢の人が急に押し寄せる場面で使います。混乱や驚きを伴う場合が多いです。「descend from」とは異なる表現です。
