누군가가 이미 서명한 문서에 다시 서명하여 인증하거나 승인하는 것. 군사적으로는 아군임을 확인하기 위한 암호를 의미하기도 함.

공식적이고 주로 법률, 비즈니스, 군사 분야에서 씁니다. '문서에 공동 서명하다', 군사적 용도로는 '암호'로 사용됨. 일상 대화에서는 잘 쓰이지 않음.
