物を押しつぶして小さくしたり、空気やデータ量を減らしてサイズを小さくすること。

物理的なもの（荷物や空気）にも、技術的なもの（ファイルやデータ）にも使える。受け身形（is being compressed）でもよく使われる。'decompress' は反対の意味。

She is compressing her clothes to fit in the suitcase.
