가벼운 혼란이나 약간의 당황스러움을 표현하며, 가끔은 재미있는 느낌이 섞일 수도 있다. "amused"(재미있어하는)와 혼동하지 않기. 자주 쓰는 표현: "bemused expression", "stood bemused".
