التعريف

何かや誰かについて直接言わずに、暗にほのめかすこと。遠回しに伝える表現です。

フォーマルやアカデミックな場面でよく使われます。「allude to ～」の形が一般的で、直接的な「refer」と違い、やんわり示すときに使います。

He didn't say my name, but he did allude to me in his speech.
