誰かが特定の場所や時間にいなかったことを証言したり証拠を示したりすること。特に犯罪がからむ場合に使う。

「アリバイを証言する」は非公式な表現で、ニュースや法廷では「アリバイを与える」「アリバイを証明する」を使うことが多い。
